What marketing lesson can we learn from the American Revolution?

We just celebrated the July 4th holiday. The celebration of our nation’s freedom and I’m reminded of that great story of the Minutemen and Paul Revere running through town crying that the British are coming and setting those lanterns up in the in the tower to let them know how the British were coming. I thought to myself it’s a lot to do with messaging, right? How important is it that you deliver the right message at the right time the right way?
So, let me break that down. He had an important message to deliver and he had to deliver it right on time to let the colonists know that the British were attacking. He also had to let them know that they were coming by land and by sea, how did he do that? With the lanterns up in the tower. That means he had to deliver a message verbally and visually for everyone to see. Think about your messaging and think about Paul Revere. Is that the message on time, delivered in a way that people can understand it? If not, you may need to work on it, and if you need help, you know that here at Flying Chimp we’re here for you.
